In line with Uzbekistan’s goals for sustainable economic growth and environmental innovation, the “Central Asia Smart City” — Green and Smart City Concept continues to expand through high-level visits and collaboration initiatives.

According to the concept, 50–60% of the city’s green zone (800–1000 hectares) will be dedicated to fruit and vegetable cultivation, while 40–50% (600–800 hectares) will be developed into parks, landscaped areas, decorative trees, and flower gardens.

In this regard, the author of the concept and Chief Investment Projects Coordinator of the Uzbekistan Economic Assembly in Turkey, Mr. Avazbek ABDULKHAEV, together with Honorary Business Diplomat of the Assembly, Mr. Mehmet Ali KOÇKAYA, visited the ZMS (Zirve Meyvecilik Sanayi) company located in the Ereğli district of Konya, Turkey.

ZMS is a horticultural company with 20 years of experience in modern fruit production. Expanding by 10–20 hectares

each year, its apple orchards yield 50–60 tons per hectare, with produce grown in compliance with food safety standards for both domestic and export markets.

During the visit, the delegation studied in detail the company’s infrastructure, including special irrigation ponds, drip irrigation systems, fertilizer depots, and a 120-hectare orchard.

In a meeting with Mr. Şeref DOĞAN, the founder of ZMS, the parties discussed practical cooperation opportunities for the green zones of the “Central Asia Smart City” project. They agreed to establish a sustainable management system for 1,600 hectares of green areas, focusing on high-quality fruit and vegetable production and the application of smart agro-technologies.

It was also agreed to conduct comprehensive studies of Eyvalek area’s natural, geometeorological, water, and soil conditions in the Ohangaron district to prepare a detailed scientific and practical assessment.

This visit marks an important step in advancing the “Central Asia Smart City” vision, fostering ecological sustainability, innovative agriculture, and the formation of a modern green economy model adapted to Uzbekistan’s conditions.
